MediaTek MT6771 Helio P60 on AnTuTu Processor performance MediaTek MT6771 Helio P60 in the AnTuTu benchmarks platform. Note: Commissions may be earned from the link above. This page contains references to products from one or more of our advertisers. The Helio P60 is the first mid-range SOC to bring a dedicated multi-core AI processing unit (mobile APU) which will find its use in facial recognition and object identification, among others. MediaTek Helio P60 has been built with a 12 nm production process, that is better than the 14 nm production process of the Snapdragon 660. This should make the new MediaTek SoC more power.

MediaTek locks the phone in a way that even minor bugs that MediaTek would... moreWhat a load of BS, First, MediaTek doesn't lock phones, manufacturers do. 2nd, unless you can show some proof for these claimed bugs that never get fixed I call BS on you (and why would bugs force you to 'upgrade every year' anyways?).
In short, you're talking about stuff you have no clue about.

Qwerty2018, 30 Dec 2018Helio X20 was on par with SD652 (CPU & GPU-wise) Helio X30 was on par with SD653, close t... moreAgree on nearly everything...comparaison between MTK and SD is nearly right.
Except X30...
X30 is far better than SD653 :
- it use cortex A73 like SD835 (A72 on SD653...as we can discuss if A73 is more powerfull compare to A72, real-life perfs and efficiency is far better)
- it uses 10nm like SD835 (28nm on SD653)
- it uses lpddr4x (lpdrr3 on 653)
- it is bluetooth 5.0 capable like SD835 (4.1 on 653)
- 4k hdr10 hevc recording like SD835 (no hdr10 on 653)
GPU isn't as good as the one in SD835, but it's the best GPU used in a Mediatek's...probably still better than the one in P90 and SD710 (maybe except on modern effects)
It's Powervr GT7400 Plus. It is physically 2/3 of the GT7600 Plus used in Apple A10.
X30 is (nearly) a real flagship soc, maybe with a lack of 30% on GPU...both X10 and X20-23-25-27 serie aren't.
The only other flagship range from Mediatek was mt6595 (cortex A17 were better than Krait 450 on SD805 and mt6595 already allows hevc recording)
Competitor to SD653 is maybe...Helio X23

indiefund, 28 Dec 2018Boring, if I am not mistaken this is their flagship nowadays. Pathetic, not even up to last ye... moreHelio X20 was on par with SD652 (CPU & GPU-wise)
Helio X30 was on par with SD653, close to SD820 (CPU-wise, as they have 10-cores)
Helio P60/P70 was on par with SD660 (CPU & GPU-wise)
Helio P20 was on par with SD625 (CPU & GPU-wise)
Do u understand what the above information means?
Most Helio SoC released till now are intended to be affordable alternatives to Mid-Range/ Hi Mid-Range Snapdragon SoC.
According their specs sheet, the upcoming Helio P90 created with the intention to 'challenge' SD710, the 'new' Hi Mid-Range category in SD family.
How can I said that?
1) the 'significantly' improved NPU scores which is able to edge SD845 NPU scores; the same NPU used in SD710
2) Similar CPU configuration: 2x Cortex A75 + 6x Cortex A55, but with higher clock in P90
3) The return of the 'powerful' PowerVR GPU means MediaTek intended to 'once again' challenge Snapdragon GPU prowess (X30 GPU is the best PowerVR GPU capable to edge SD820 GPU, as Mali T880 MP4 is already on par with SD 65x GPU)
4) MediaTek uses flagship-grade ISP; support up to 48MP single camera OR up to 24 + 16 MP dual camera setup. Spectra 250 in SD710 is FAR inferior in this department.
5) Similar to SD710, support Dual channel LPDDR4x @ 1866 MHz, up to 8GB RAM
6) LTE modem is similar to Qualcomm X12 LTE ( Download Cat. 12 / Upload Cat. 13); X12 LTE is the modem used in the current Mid-Range Snapdragon SoC)
7) Support Dual-4G ON for dual SIM card; no SD SoC able to do this till now.
8) P90 support the LATEST UFS 2.1 storage
9) Support up to 2520 x 1080 pixel (FHD+) display, similar to Snapdragon Mid-Range SoC
In the end, u are saying BULLS*IT without even doing a little research first; typical QC fanboy, or small-fry TROLL

MediaTek locks the phone in a way that even minor bugs that MediaTek wouldn't bother fixing can't be fixed due to the fact that MediaTek is a lazy and greedy a**hole and forces the customer to upgrade every year or two.

I had a LG K8 with a 4 core mtk and it was a very good phone , accurate gps and not lagging. Compared to the huawei p8 lite from the same era that has an 8 core kirin and is very laggy and poor gps.
I used them both and the LG was much better. The only shortcoming was the 8 Gb storage.
Mtk are prety good chips for everyday use. I don't play games so I can not say how good are for that.

Wow, such confidence is amazing! Mine Meizu MX4 lasted me 4 good years, changed battery at 3rd year, didn't experience lag for everyday use like what you claimed said tho.
In the end, changed to new phone (OnePlus 3) at that time not because of lag, but insufficient and not expandable storage, 16GB.

make.belive.not, 28 Dec 2018well, the faulty part there is Touchwiz, Grace UX or One UX or anything you like to name it...... moreI have some experience with Chinese smartphones too...
There's no more problems with GPS on soc since...mt6582 (2013)
But there are problems on devices that use Mediatek :
- sometime bad antennas
- sometime bad Rom (gps.conf file)
Nevertheless, you can find devices with mtk and good GPS since 2013-2014
With the same soc, on some brands GPS is ok, on other, GPS is crap.
I have never seen any mtk soc failed.
I still got a DivX player with mt1389 from the early 2000. It is still ok!
I still got a Haipai x710d, mt6577 from 2012 is still ok...only microUSB port has connection problème, but mt6577 is ok (this one has a bad GPS)
I got a P7000 that works bad, but mt6752 is still ok...problems come from Nand, not from soc. Activities that don't need the storage works like a charm!
About Spreadtrum, their best soc use x86 octacores but is close to Helio P20...

- because AnTuTu is made for Snapdragon, they decrease multicore influence when 820 was released against 8 cores Exynos/Kirin (one of the founding people of AnTuTu is called Liang BIN...there's a Liang BIN who work for Qualcomm...same person?), They decrease Instructions Per Cycle influence on CPU test when 835 (3IPS) was released against Exynos (6IPS)
- because AnTuTu overrates GPU
Outside some games, a Snapdragon 636 works better than a 820.

Exynos SoC was not mentioned by me, Exynos is on pair with Snapdragon SoC so nothing to say here.
Even Speadtrum chips is better than MTK ones...
I have a lot of expeerience with chinese MTK phones, and everything fails after a while: the phone will lag, GPS never work great, more lag, network signal will be weak, lag lag lag, force close apps....and (yeah, you bet, more lag) and so on.
