Many Xbox players have been looking forward to announcements about the new Xbox console and upcoming games, yet it seems that fans can still get quality offers on Xbox Live at the moment. A post by Twitter user Wario64, who frequently contributes to gaming news and discourse, has revealed that a well-received game is freely available. It is currently unclear why the title has suddenly become free to download, but some are speculating that the offer may be indicative of a partnership between Warner Bros. Interactive and Xbox.

While the Xbox Game Pass offers a lot of games for a cheap price, players who are not subscribed to the service will likely be pleased to receive a game for free. Xbox has yet to make a statement about this offering and it could be connected to several ongoing initiatives ranging from supporting players as they isolate because of the COVID-19 pandemic to a budding business deal.

Injustice: God Among Us was well-received when it was originally released in 2013, with praise being directed at its DC comic-based character roster and fighting mechanics. The original game is seven years old, but the title is interestingly being listed as free on Xbox Live alongside all the DLC that later came to the game. At the moment it seems that the game is available for free in most regions and players may want to download the title quickly in case this is a listing issue rather than just a great offer for customers.

This listing will undoubtedly fuel rumors that Xbox is planning to acquire Warner Bros. Interactive, who has been responsible for the likes of Mortal Kombat and the Batman Arkham series. This free offering alongside claims that AT&T is selling Warner Bros. Interactive certainly aligns neatly and it would help Xbox's problem with having a lack of exclusive games. With that said, there would likely be many interested parties who would like to absorb Warner Bros. Interactive and there may be a bidding war before the company is confirmed.

Warner Bros. Interactive could be a fantastic studio to partner with Xbox and it will be interesting to see why this game has become freely available. Many players will now wonder whether there is a greater connection between a business deal and a free game, while others will simply be happy to have a quality fighting game free of charge.
